Partial Explanation for Blog Inactivity
Before I knew it, over a month has elapsed since my last posting. Why is that? Is it due to a compendium of minor engagements and concerns, or is there something deeper lurking underneath the thin veneer of inactivity?

In light of events of the past six years, my interests have drifted away from the substantive concerns of the day to the ephemera of the hour. Sports, celebrity gossip and humor are where I have been taking refuge, and ultimately there is only so much that I can write about them.
***
That said, the reason for the dropoff in postings is because, in one way or another, it is mildly unadvisable to publicly discuss the majority of things that I think about or experience on a daily basis.
***
In terms of politics, I am not completely paranoid but, as made abundantly clear through more prominent examples, the current administration will not hesistate to use nearly any means to silence or otherwise subdue its critics. Moreover, with the various easedropping and surveillance programs now in place, I am uneasy even writing "Iran", "Pyongyang" or "Osama" while typing a current events post. In terms of work, it is absolutely out of the question to make any post, regardless as to how inocuous it may seem, on this subject.
***
The above notwithstanding, I fully intend to continue to make interesting and thought-provoking (or, alternately, pleasantly brain numbing) posts in the future.
