Super Bowl Prediction and Pre-Game Analysis

Living in the host city of Miami, the two weeks of pre-Super Bowl hype have been particularly acute. As a local, this is in many ways just another event that makes daily life a hassle, yet I will acknowledge the economic benefits that this massive commercial and sporting event brings to the area.

That said, I believe that THE BEARS will win this game (it is about 15 minutes from kickoff as I write). The non-exclusive reasons are: (1) if forced to chose, defense prevails over offense; (2) Grossman is not as bad as he is made out to be; and (3) special teams.

Finally, there is the coincidence of where the starting quarterbacks played college ball. Rex went to UF and was privy to the teachings of Steve Spurrier. Peyton went to Tennessee and never beat the Gators.
